Driver Training

By reading the website www.advancedrive.com & booking a service, you agree to all of Advance Drive’s terms and conditions. Terms and conditions can be updated by Advance Drive without notice so it is important to check for updates.
All Advance Drive’s instructors are approved by the relative bodies for the particular type of training being undertaken. I.e. Driving Instructors are approved by the Road Safety Authority to deliver driver training for Motorbike, Car, Truck and Bus.
As per the ADI Voluntary Code of Practice, All Advance Drive’s instructors are professional, well groomed, mannerly and treat all customers with respect and consideration.
All Advance Drive’s training vehicles used for driver training are clean, maintained regularly fully insured and fit for purpose meeting all requirements laid out by the RSA.
In the unlikely event of a accident when the learner is at fault, the learner is required to pay the first €1500 for repairs on the training vehicle & any damage to third parts.
Advance Drive reserves the right not to offer driver training to any learner driver.
Advance Drive can stop a lesson at any time should they feel that the learner is a danger to themselves, the vehicle or other road users. If a lesson is stopped Advance Drive cannot be held responsible for any time lost or costs incurred.
Learners should be well rested and fit to drive for all lessons. Advance Drive can refuse a lesson should they have reason to believe that the learner is under the influence of alcohol / drugs or is excessively tired. If a lesson is refused Advance Drive cannot be held responsible for any time lost or costs incurred.
Advance Drive start all driver training lessons from Salthill in Galway or our headquarters in Ballybane unless otherwise arranged.

Payment / Cancellation / Rescheduling

Payment for training services & driving lessons must be made to the office at the time of booking by credit/debit card or bank transfer. Credit/debit card detail’s are taken to secure bookings.
In the event of a no show the full fee for the lesson is due as the instructor’s time and the vehicle was held and the time could not be offered to anyone else.
Cancellation / Rescheduling – Minimum 48 hours notice must be given and confirmed to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson otherwise the full fee will be charged.
In the event of a no show or cancellation / reschedule within 48 hour of the appointment the total cost of the booking must be paid. This can be paid by calling the office on 091524689, in the event that no contact is made within a week of the cancellation/no show the payment will be taken from the credit/debit card details provided at the time of the booking.
Please note that prepaid fees are non refundable. In exceptional circumstances fees paid for unused services may be refunded at the discretion of management, however 20% of these fees will be held to cover administration & other charges.

Learner Permit

Learner drivers must hold a valid learner permit and have it available for the instructor on every lesson. A receipt of application from the NDLS is not acceptable and cannot be used to start lessons. If a learner driver arrives to a lesson without a valid learner permit then the lesson will be cancelled without refund. Advance Drive cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred.
Advance Drive requires a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice to accommodate learners for their driving test dates. It is advisable that learners come for an assessment lesson before applying for their driving test in order for the instructor to see their standard of driving and assess how much training will be required to get to test standard.
Advance Drive will NOT hire out a vehicle for a driving test without completing a minimum course of six hours of training. This is to assess a persons driving, let the learner become familiar with the vehicle controls and to cover the driving test routes.
Advance Drive reserves the right to refuse the use of a vehicle for the driving test even after completing training should they feel that the learner is unsafe or potentially a risk to themselves or others.
Driving tests take preference over driving lessons and in the event that a driving test date should clash with existing lessons, Advance Drive may have to reschedule driving lessons to accommodate. Advance Drive cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of rescheduling lessons.
In the case of circumstances beyond our control such as break down of vehicles and adverse weather conditions, Advance Drive reserves the right to postpone driving lessons. Advance Drive cannot he held responsible for costs incurred as a result.
As Advance Drive’s instructors are fully booked each day it is important that learners are punctual for their driving lessons. If you’re running late for your lessons please notify the office or your instructor at your earliest convenience. Instructors will wait for a maximum time of 30 minutes before the lesson is deemed to be a no show. In turn learners are asked to wait for the same time for instructors in the case that they are running behind for unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost as a result of this will be made up by the instructor on the day or on the next lesson.
Advance Drive reserves the right to change the cost of any lessons or services at anytime. If a customer has started lessons the original cost will apply until they pass their driving test. If you‘re a new customer, it is important to contact the office to confirm all costs for services prior to booking.
All queries made by phone and email to Advance Drive will be replied to within 48 hours where possible. Please note social media may not be checked daily so it is advisable to email or call the office for help with enquiries.
Advance Drive reserves the right to not reply to any emails or enquiries that they deem to spam, junk or of a false nature.

Driver CPC Training

Payment for Driver CPC Training courses is required in advance to confirm bookings. Please note that fees are non refundable. Once bookings have been made and accepted by Advance Drive. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Advance Drive requires 48 hours notice to reschedule any bookings made for Driver CPC Training courses. Any cancellations made after this time will result in loss of payment.

Driver Hire Terms of Business

1. Driver Hire refers to the hire of drivers only. 2. Companies looking to hire a driver must ensure that vehicles used are taxed, insured, road worthy and have valid NCT or CVRT. 3. Bookings are confirmed once the job has been accepted and a driver appointed. 4. Once a booking is confirmed we require the following notice for cancellations: 21 Days Notice No Fee, 11 – 20 Days Notice Minimum Daily Rate Applies, 10 Days Notice Time Booked is Time Paid. 5. Payment is due within 21 days from date of invoice.

Gift Vouchers

Gift Vouchers are non refundable and valid for 6 months from issue date.
If a Gift Voucher is lost or mislaid, it may only be redeemed providing it has been bought in a person’s name and they have proof of purchase.

Complaints

In the event of a complaint that cannot be resolved with the help of your driving instructor, complaints should be made in writing and emailed to info@advancedrive.com or posted to Advance Drive, Bother Na Mine, Ballybane Ind Est, Galway H91 PH92

I want to say a massive thank you to the Advance Drive team, especially Martin and Aoife. Firstly, every time I contacted advance drive I was greeted by Aoife who went over and beyond to help as much she could in regards to lessons, booking me in, changing slots and replying to emails. However, I owe a huge thanks to Martin, my instructor for all my 22 lessons! From start to finish he gave it his all, and I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Passed my Jeep and Trailer test with my instructor Noel. From start to finish Noel was brilliant, clear instructions and very good knowledge of all aspects of driving with a trailer. I would like to thank Noel for all his time and hard work. Also the girls in the office were great and they kept in touch with me during the long wait for my test and always sent timely reminders of upcoming lessons. I cannot reccomend Advance Drive enough for new drivers! After failing the test three times with other instructors I had lost all confidence in my driving abilities. And became a very nervous driver. I then went to Advance Drive where Noel became my new instructor. Noel changed my whole perspective on driving and the nerves went away. He's so patient and understanding and I found the lessons to be fun and enjoyable in comparison to other driving schools in Galway. 10/10 for Noel & Advanced drive, could not reccomend enough! Definitely the reason for me passing my test!

My driving lessons were disrupted by the recent health crisis, but once I joined up with Advance Drive and my instructor Martin, I flew through my remaining EDT's. Martin was a fantastic instructor and made me feel very comfortable getting back to driving as I was quite nervous. After a few lessons with him, my confidence grew leaps and bounds and with just three extra lessons after the essential ones, I passed my test the first time! I would highly recommend Martin and Advance Drive to anyone no matter where you are on your driving journey. Thanks so much Martin, couldn't have done it without you!!

Amazing lessons, great instructors and a very central location in Galway city. This is definitely a 5 star driving school. Both office staff - Aoife and Emma were always on hand to organize lessons at very short notice along with being very helpful and professional. My instructors Lee and Anton were hugely influential upon passing my category C driving test. What you will learn from these two guys will not only benefit you during your driving test but also in your future driving life especially when it comes to your safety and well being on the road. No need to google anybody else - you have found the best instructors right here. Thanks all.

Advance Drive was a great option to complete my EDT in the way to obtain the Irish driving license. Very responsive and proffesionals, Emma and Aoife were great in supporting the classes scheduling and booking the car for the day of the test. For me it was very valuable the offered service to book the same car to take the exam. My instructor Pat was brilliant and patient in guiding me in the introduction to Ireland's driving rules and correcting me some bad driving habits!. He gave me very good tips, that I took, and I am very happy to have passed the driving test today!

I passed my driving test (car) first time. I can not thank Advance Driving enough , i started my lessons with corey , and i finished my lessons with Declan. I highly recommend Declan as a driving instructor. Declan will always encourage you and support you along the way. He will make your driving experience enjoyable. Dont worry about making mistakes ,Declan is very experienced and highly skilled, you are in safe hands. Great tip : Do a lesson before the test or do a pretest or both, it helped me hugely. I would like to thank everyone at Advance Driving . The women in the office are so lovely and so pleasant to talk too that they will always do their best to accommodate ya and all the staff are very friendly. Just passed my bus course with advance in conjunction with GRETB. I had Vincent as my instructor and he is excellent would highly recommend him for anyone thinking off getting the bus or truck licence. The staff are very helpful from start to finish from meeting Phillip when you first join to Emma and Aoife and Lee who are always there to help with any questions you need answered. Ronald took us for cpc training and has years of experience and makes it easy to learn. Cant recommend Advance Drive highly enough.

A great experience overall doing lessons with advance drive, from booking and scheduling lessons with the ever helpful Aoife in the office to the lessons themselves with the instructor (shane) He was a great help in preparing me for the test and was always able to answer any questions regarding the test itself. When it came to the test I knew every route likely to be tested on and was confident of passing from the get go. Would highly recommend advance drive for anyone looking to get the C1 license

I am really happy for passing my driving test. Of course i would not have a change passing without Martin my instructor. A massive thanks for this man. I never drove in my life and also never had experience in driving at all until I started my lessons at Advance Drive School. I remember how bad i was with my driving skills. I was scared and afraid of driving too. But Martin supported me from the start and gave his best to help me to improve my skills and my confidence. During my lessons i could learn so much and practice a lot. Every 2 hour lessons helped me to build my confidence and fix all my mistakes. I just wanted to say big thanks for Martin and for the whole team at the office. You all deserve the best, because you take care of us so well. Honestly, Advance Drive is a high level top school.

This week I passed my Driver CPC case studies and minibus driving test with advance drive. A special thanks to owner Philip and staff Ronald,Gerry, Emma and Aoife who are so professional. My instructor was a really special man Dezzie who is the best.....Dezzie you are the man! Looking back now that all this is done and dusted I cant believe how nervous I was but Dezzie stuck with me and rather than giving up he kept me going and going. Thanks a million Dez for staying with me and you words of encouragement. This school Advance Drive I highly recommend and is the best and keep winning those awards.

I was Delighted to pass my Category D Bus test on my first attempt yesterday Thanks to all the guys at Advance Drive, they are a very professional set up and I couldn’t recommend them enough . I have to give a special mention to Gerry who was my instructor, Gerry is a professional who knows his job inside out and gives great confidence and self belief, he is also good fun and gives a relaxed feel to the whole experience, I think I will be hearing “Mind that tail swing and mirror mirror” in my sleep for the next ten years! Thanks also to Aoife, Alilbhe and Emma in the office who were always very helpful when I was looking for any information.
