    ‘LEADING LIGHTS IN ROAD SAFETY AWARD – ADI OF THE YEAR 2013 FOR THE TRUCK CATEGORY’

    Philip Rice, instructor and Managing Director of Advance Drive School of Motoring in Salthill was presented with the prestigious ‘Leading Lights in Road Safety Award’ for ‘Approved Driving Instructor of the Year 2013 for the Truck Category’ on Wednesday 11th December 2013 in Farmleigh House, Dublin. Philip was presented with the award by Chairman of the Road Safety Authority Mr Gay Byrne and scooped the Nationwide Award for his recognition and contribution to road safety.

    Philip is a registered ADI since January 2009 and was nominated in two ‘Leading Lights’ Award categories for both the Bus and the Truck and provides driver training in all categories of vehicles (A, A1, B, BE, C1, C, CE, D1, D) along with delivering Driver CPC Periodic Training for professional drivers. Philip is also a member of the RSA’s Stakeholders Forum representing the West of Ireland after being elected by a number of ADI’s in his area of Galway.

    The ‘Leading Lights in Road Safety’ Awards were introduced in 2008 to celebrate the outstanding efforts of people across Ireland to make roads safer for everyone. The awards provide a special opportunity for members of the public to honor the contribution of exceptional people who promote road safety in their communities.
